Join us for a series of free events aimed at growing capability of community groups through development sessions on relevant topics, each session also providing an opportunity for networking. Each session will run for 90 minutes. The talk will be from 5:30pm to 6:15pm, with the remainder of the time for networking. Free pre-registration required for each individual event.

Are you wanting to put on an event in the community but are unsure where to start? Need help navigating council’s event requirements? This session is designed to give you some basics when it comes to event essentials and navigating council’s event requirements.
Facilitated by the WDC Venue and Events team, this session brings together speakers from multiple council departments (Venue and Events, Bylaws, Northland Transportation Alliance (NTA) and Community Development) with the aim of building community event capabilities.
The session structure will be a mixture of a short presentation followed by a panel discussion/Q&A opportunity.
Topic covered include:
- Events on council land permits
- Event essentials and templates (Health and Safety, Waste Management, Accessibility etc).
- Event Food and Alcohol licensing
- Road Corridor Access
- Traffic Management
- Event Temporary Road Closure's.
Accessibility information: Wheelchair access, accessible parking, accessible toilets, viewing area.
